3rd Shift Maintenance Technician - O'Neal Steel / Grand Prairie, TX
O'Neal Steel has an opening for a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician at our Grand Prairie, TX facility.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (mechanical, electrical).
Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to increase efficiency, capability, and yield.
Conduct equipment failure analyses, including preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
Prepare technical reports to document preventive maintenance issues.
Qualifications
General knowledge of basic troubleshooting skills; ability to assist with repairs and diagnostics of advanced processing equipment, CNC, material handling systems, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment.
Maintenance experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems, typically demonstrated by work experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment or completion of an electrical or mechanical repair training program.
Ability to perform maintenance and repair tasks on material handling and processing equipment, including calculating, laying out, drawing, balancing, aligning equipment, performing rigging activities, safety-related functions, and other miscellaneous maintenance functions.
Proficiency in utilizing or fabricating parts from cold rolled steel, stainless steel, steel plate, structural steel members, other metals, plastics, fittings, valves, and all types of mechanical parts.
Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes.
Knowledge of programming Variable Frequency Drives.
Troubleshoot Programable Logic Controllers.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
Upon offer of employment, candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
