Position Information
Hiring Department: Parking & Transportation Services
Posting End Date: Open until filled
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 5:00 am‑5:00 pm; flexibility required on evenings and weekends
FLSA status: Non‑exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: $25,000 annually

Primary Accountabilities & Essential Functions
Act as the university representative to students, visitors, faculty, and staff entering the campus
Provide parking and transportation assistance and related services
Assist visitors and guests with parking information and directions
Provide logistical support for enforcement of university parking regulations in designated areas
Serve as an ambassador of the university and provide courteous assistance in locating campus facilities
Perform motorist, escort, and other public service duties (e.g., opening locked vehicles, jump‑starting, flat‑tire assistance)
Direct traffic flow and parking of cars
Enforce university parking rules, check permits, allow campus access, and report lost, stolen, or counterfeit permits to campus police
Operate university vehicles (cars, trucks, golf carts, bicycles) while patrolling parking lots and garages
Set up and remove barricades, cones, ropes, and signs for events or construction emergencies, and assist campus police and facilities personnel during inclement weather or heavy traffic
Advertise and promote event parking using the ParkMobile platform, secure and patrol event lots, and greet patrons to venues
Support enforcement of parking policies and ticket issuance, including operating computer equipment for citations, downloading ticket data, and appearing before traffic courts on contested citations
Operate handheld computer scanners for inventorying pay meters, conducting audits, performing operational and maintenance checks, and managing coin collection
Operate communication radio equipment
Perform equipment maintenance, including storing, painting, and inventorying gates, installing/repairing gate arms, and conducting preventive maintenance on meters, pay stations, gate houses, pedestals, vehicles, and other equipment
Conduct lot checks, utilization studies, surveys, and maintenance reports
Prepare incident, activity, and property reports and other required paperwork
Observe safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed
Work various shifts, including overtime, occasional weekends, and inclement weather
Install and remove immobilization devices, impound bicycles, and handle activated alarms (car or fire) reported to campus police dispatch
Use Microsoft Office software and learn institutional software systems
Comply with all state and university policies
Other duties may be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience: One year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state where the applicant resides
Must be insurable as defined in the UT System UTS 157
Background check permitted under Texas Education Code 51.215
Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to feel, reach, and talk or hear
Occasionally lift and move up to 35 pounds
Work Environment
Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions
Noise level ranges from moderate to loud
