RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Skillfully perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and physical structures, including the maintenance/replacement of simple motors and the ability to effectively remove and replace AC/DC drives.

Work and/or effectively monitor the Programmable Logic Controller, Drive systems, and Robotics at the basic level and troubleshoot within the system.

Work within the Computerized Maintenance System to record daily tasks including shift reports, work orders, etc. in a timely and accurate fashion.

Perform basic welding tasks as related to a manufacturing environment.

Utilize blueprints to understand machinery and facilities maintenance requirements.

Perform basic wiring tasks and advanced or complex wiring tasks with supervision.

Accurately perform a general inspection to discern the root cause of basic equipment failures and/or the need for maintenance equipment. Make basic repairs within guidelines and authority limits, and follow established procedures for maintenance tasks and reporting duties.

Follow and ensure that all safety requirements and procedures are always observed and met.

Prioritize maintenance jobs in order of importance or urgency to ensure production downtime is kept to an absolute minimum. Work with manager to determine priorities and ensure knowledge of significant issues.

Assist with maintaining the maintenance department; ensuring inventory is returned to proper locations and general housekeeping tasks are completed.

Identify opportunities for improved processes and procedures to assist with efficient management of maintenance tasks and services provided to all departments.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of machines and facilities. Ongoing learning through seminars, training classes, etc. to ensure up-to-date knowledge related to job functions, equipment, electrical tasks, and other applicable tasks as related to the job duties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, interpret, and utilize blueprints.

Basic welding skills.

Basic to intermediate wiring skills.

Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of hand tools and other maintenance-related tools and can identify proper tools for various jobs.

Ability to demonstrate sound judgment while adapting to a fast-paced environment and rapid changes. Able to juggle multiple tasks and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to detail.

Ability to be on-call and respond to maintenance calls and needs during off-shift hours.

Strong organizational skills combined with good problem-solving skills.

Practice and promote teamwork within our organization.

High level of dependability regarding attendance and punctuality with the ability to be on call as needed for maintenance issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to use hands including fingers to hold, touch, see, feel, grip, squeeze, push, pull.

Ability to perform pushing, pulling, and forward exertion on a regular basis.

Ability to have an overhead extension with arms on a regular basis.

Ability to use enhanced levels of manual dexterity with arms and hands to operate industrial power tools occasionally.

Ability to stand and walk continuously on a concrete floor for 12‑hour shifts.

Ability to stand, crouch, stoop, bend, and squat frequently.

Ability to kneel occasionally.

Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.

Ability to twist at the hip and waist area on a regular basis.

Ability to rotate the neck to look backward, up, down, and sideways on a regular basis.

Ability to work on elevated platforms.

Ability to climb on uneven surfaces occasionally.

Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.

Ability to occasionally move up to 80 lbs with assistance.

Ability to understand and communicate verbally, in person, and over a paging system.

Ability to meet requirements of and utilize all PPE when required.

EQUIVALENT EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Minimum of one to three years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment working on both facilities and machinery.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent.

Maintenance in a plastics manufacturing environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Indoor, hot or cold, moderately loud environment. PPE required while performing job functions.

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS Work involves overtime, shift rotations, and schedule changes. Requires adherence to deadlines and project completion deadlines.
