College of Medicine The College of Medicine (COM) Student Affairs Department supports students throughout their medical education, from recruitment, application and admission through graduation and beyond. COM Student affairs provides outstanding student-centered services in the core functions of admissions, counseling and wellness, student financial services, student records, student academic support, and student services, while collaborating with faculty and staff in the development and education of exemplary physicians.
The Opportunity The University of Central Florida's College of Medicine is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Admissions Coordinator I. This role manages and supports all aspects of the M.D. program admissions process, including processing and monitoring application progress. This position also provides customer service to prospective students via phone, email and walk‑in inquiries, as well as assisting with marketing, tours, information sessions and recruitment.
Responsibilities
Reviews and evaluates all initial applications received from the national application service to ensure completeness and minimum requirements, categorizes applications for additional evaluation and action.
Assists in the planning, coordination, and execution of M.D. program admissions special events such as Preview, Admissions Symposium, periodic state pre-health advisor meetings and the annual High School Open House.
Assists with marketing initiatives including the revision of the annual viewbook, updating the MD Admissions website and creating marketing fliers for events and special programming.
Responds to telephone, e‑mail, and walk‑in inquiries to advise M.D. program applicants and prospective students of program requirements for admission as well as other career opportunities in medicine.
Coordinates the Knights Ambassadors program during their selection process and subsequent participation in weekly and special events.
Assists with organizing student representation for social media for the M.D. Program Admissions office.
Ensures that all documents to support the Medical Student Admissions Committee (MSAC) chair and committee members are available for weekly meetings to review and accept applicants.
Represents the M.D. program admissions office in public and academic settings - high schools, colleges, conferences, and with professional organizations.
Provides bi‑monthly building tours and monthly information sessions to prospective applicants and the public.
Tracks and confirms receipt of all matriculation documents including the transcripts, residency documents and background checks.
Other duties as assigned including timely completion of required university and COM trainings.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's and 2+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in graduate or professional school admissions process.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to advise prospective students and represent the program in public and academic settings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Special Instructions To The Applicants The anticipated pay rate for this position is $20.29‑$24.86 per hour. The final wage will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
