Your Role at Baxter Set‑up, adjust, and perform minor repairs on complex production equipment. You may also operate equipment after set‑up or monitor several machines for needed adjustments.
Responsibilities
Perform measurement checks, die adjustments, visual inspections, cleaning, labeling, packing, palletizing, batch tracing, wrapping/moving finished product, monitoring process, completing changeovers, screen changes, die cleaning, updating batch boards, discarding scrap, operating forklift, creating, maintaining, and verifying documentation.
Cover other operators to allow for breaks.
Responsible for quality and productivity of assigned line(s).
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic computer, math, and tool knowledge; ability to read and understand job instructions.
Must write legibly and use a numbering system.
Forklift operation may be required.
Understand and obey all safety rules and perform job tasks safely.
Willingness to work overtime on weekends and off‑shift coverage.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Required training: TABE and 4‑Cast prior to May 2010, or a minimum Silver on the Career Readiness Certificate, or BaxTech/SWAT.
Industrial/Mechanical experience and knowledge of extrusion preferred.
Physical & Safety Requirements
Walking, lifting a minimum of 35 lbs., lifting above head, bending, twisting, pushing, stretching, squatting, pulling, reaching, standing, climbing, carrying, operating forklift.
Must pass forklift physical.
Work around heat and fumes.
Duty may require nights and weekends.
Use of hands and fingers for office equipment manipulation.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
Compensation The hourly rate for this role is $20.50 per hour. Pay may vary based on market data, location, skills, expertise, experience, and other factors.
