Job Summary The Warehouse/Forklift Associate II is responsible for the physical movement and storage of freight within a container freight station, including loading and unloading, documentation, and adherence to maintenance and safety standards.
Primary Objectives
Efficient and accurate movement of freight as required using appropriate equipment and safety practices.
Timely and precise completion of required documentation for inbound and outbound freight.
Active support of safety, security, and work environment policies and best practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operate electric or propane powered forklift trucks with rated lifting capacity up to 35,000 lbs and heights typically not exceeding 180 inches (15 feet).
Operate lifting, tilting, and steering controls to position, load, move, transport, and stack goods and materials in crates, boxes, pallets, skids in areas such as warehouse docks, ocean containers, vans, flatbed trucks, and flat racks.
Receive and verify freight against receiving documentation, identify and note discrepancies and damage, and report findings.
Load and unload containers using strip sheets and load sheets and re‑cube export shipments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse work area.
Comply with safety and security regulations and policies including attendance at monthly safety meetings.
Respond to or escape questions and concerns from forklift operators, truck drivers, and other visitors to the facility.
Other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education
High school diploma or equivalent (HSED) required
Licenses and Certifications
Forklift certification required
Valid state issued driver’s license and acceptable driving record preferred
Work Experience
1+ years of related forklift operator work experience required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to independently operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely.
Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse location and documentation systems.
Self‑directed with the ability to complete assignments within time and productivity guidelines with minimal supervision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen to and follow verbal instructions and write legibly.
Ability to read and properly complete freight‑related documentation and instructions.
Good organizational and multitasking skills.

Salary Range The salary range listed is based on the geographic zone associated with this role: Compton, CA. For applicants from other zones, the salary range may vary to align with the cost of labor and market conditions in that area. Zone 2: Starting rate $23.00; up to $24.00 for highly qualified candidates.
