OVERVIEW Leads feed mill. Responsible for all facets of the day-to-day operations. Serve as front-line management, accountable for all factors related to the functioning of the feed mill.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Provide leadership, development, and supervision for clerical, dispatch, feed mill, and delivery employees.

Monitor and manage the ingredient(s) receiving, ingredient and feed inventories, feed manufacturing processes, and associated quality control programs.

Communicate daily with staff to ensure that all production and delivery schedules are met.

Establish plans for efficient and effective ongoing feed manufacturing and delivery processes.

Plan and execute preventive maintenance programs.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations relating to the production facilities, processes, and environment.

Ensure the company’s assets and inventory are safe and secure.

Adhere to all safety protocols and advocate a safe work environment.

Participate in Safety Committee and conduct monthly department safety meetings.

Ensure that staff is trained to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsible for mill cleanliness, appearance, and ground maintenance.

Attain a thorough understanding of all automation & mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes.

Prepare reports pertaining to ingredients, manufacturing, inventory, and usage.

Offer and implement plans to improve efficiency and control costs; responsible for understanding and justifying all feed manufacturing and delivery expenses.

Assist in the preparation of the annual budget(s).

Input all changes to feed formulas as required. Schedule all staff and manage employee time-off requests.

REQUIREMENTS

Previous exposure to Live Production operations is preferred, but not required.

A strong mechanical aptitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of safety protocols are essential.

CDL Driver’s License (preferred).

Documented prior experience in Feed Mill Operations (Please list in application).

Management prefers a candidate that has obtained 5 years of management experience at Feed Mill Operations, preferably in Poultry.

Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of low-cost, high-efficiency manufacturing, delivery, and maintenance processes.

Ability to manage and act in a fast-paced, constantly changing, environment.

Must have the ability to adapt time and efforts to priority areas.

Display a high level of professionalism and a customer service mindset.

Provide leadership and motivation to operations, dispatch, and feed delivery staff. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Champion for and implement teamwork to promote excellence.

Must maintain a high degree of accessibility to staff and customers.

Requires periodic evening and weekend work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work in an office environement.

Work in outside environments (Including inclement weather) occasionally.

Work with machinery and moving parts.

The ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Must be able to climb ladders.

Operate equipment at high heights.

Work in a noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment.

Have the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts when needed.
