Purpose The Assistant Director will oversee student outreach and recruitment initiatives to support enrollment of undergraduate students. Oversees and administers scholarships for the undergraduate program while working closely with Development and University Compliance. Coordinates the internal transfer process.
Responsibilities
Responsible for strategy and execution of scholarship award criteria and selection process. Oversee the administration of BBA Scholarships for incoming and continuing students, which includes application management, scholarship selection, student notification, award processing, tracking and reporting requirements to meet compliance and stakeholder needs. Represent MSB on University committees pertaining to scholarships and related activities. Work with key stakeholders to develop strategy for scholarship awarding and with McCombs and University Development on scholarship criteria and eligibility. Coordinate corporate and departmental scholarships. Disseminate scholarship information and conduct meetings with students regarding scholarship criteria and eligibility. Initiate and lead undergraduate scholarship committees.
Direct recruitment programming strategy to promote BBA Program. Generate and maintain data analytics for BBA freshman admission statistics. Serve on key committees or working groups across campus designed to recruit and yield top talent to UT. Coordinate with University stakeholders to meet with and advise prospective students.
Manage all aspects of the Internal Transfer Admission process for the McCombs BBA Program, with decision‑making authority, for Fall, Spring and Summer terms. Determine exceptions for internal and external admission process applications. Initiate and lead the internal transfer committee. Generate and maintain data analytics for transfer admission statistics.
Supervise development and implementation of two on‑campus overnight summer camps to recruit high school students. This includes oversight of application design, student selection, program execution, and reporting analyses to key stakeholders.
Manage outreach and recruitment staff, including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions. Motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience coordinating or administering a program in a college or university academic program office.
Experience establishing strong rapport with students, faculty/staff, donors, and other external partners.
Demonstrated accuracy, initiative, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team‑oriented environment.
Previous success managing multiple projects, assessing work priorities, and ability to meet deadlines.
Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of applications, particularly Excel, and comfortable with learning new technologies.
Experience working with budgets, expenses, or other financial tracking responsibilities.
Supervisory experience leading professional staff with proven ability to coach, assess performance, and develop work plans.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in college admission and recruiting. Experience advising college students, event planning, and donor relations.
Experience giving presentations to various audiences of students and families.
Ability to speak Spanish.
Experience with University of Texas or McCombs School of Business academic and business policies and procedures.
Knowledge of UT policy and procedures relating to undergraduate student aid and scholarships with demonstrated success in administering scholarships.
Knowledge of various UT applications, such as FRMS, LASSO, VIP, Advisors Toolkit, Slate, DEFINE, Salesforce, and Canva.
A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Salary Range
$72,000 annually
Working Conditions
Works in standard office conditions, in a shared office environment, with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required during peak periods and special events. Requires overnight stay in residence hall during summer camp programming.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. This position is not eligible for sponsorship of work visas.
This is an Austin, TX‑based position and is eligible for occasional remote work.
