At the Department of Radiation Oncology, our oncologists, therapists and staff work together to design custom treatment plans for specific cancer diagnoses. This ensures the patient will more quickly feel normal, with minimal impact on healthy tissues from the effects of radiation. Summary of Essential Duties: As our next Medical Dosimetrist you will design, plan and calculate optimum radiation treatment delivery techniques, and ensure continuous accuracy of delivered, modified and total radiation dose based on the Radiation Oncologist's prescribed course of radiation therapy. Work closely with physicians to precisely design optimum computerized treatment plans Select radiation beam modifiers to improve treatment effectiveness, while reducing dose to normal tissue Calculate amount of radiation to be delivered to treatment area and carry doses to essential surrounding area Calculate and/or re-plan treatment areas that have been modified during course of treatment Maintain accuracy of delivered and total doses in patient’s treatment charts Calculate total dose and/or dose rates for implanted volumes This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with Cedars-Sinai Physicians seeing patients in our new Tarzana, CA clinic, as well as through our affiliation with Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA. Qualifications
