How You’ll Make an Impact As a Safety Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving the technical support in the implementation of the facility’s safety, environmental and Responsible Care® programs and initiatives to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and corporate and industry standards consistent with Lubrizol’s Corporate Philosophy, and Health, Safety, Environment and Security policy. The Safety Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in the implementation of programs and initiatives in environmental compliance and management and RCMS/ISO programs. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:
Assist with the implementation of environmental programs and initiatives in support of the facility’s compliance programs, Responsible Care Management System, and facility and corporate goals.
Work on focused projects and initiatives as directed.
Complete structured assignments in a thorough and professional manner.
Provide the leadership necessary to support the environmental initiative throughout the entire organization.
Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
Review existing policies and procedures.
Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety.
Enforce preventative measures.
Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes.
Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
Required Qualifications that Enables Your Success
Experience working in a safety related position in a manufacturing, distribution, or chemical processing environment; intern or co‑op experience acceptable.
B.S. in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or Industrial Engineering.
Ability to take direction and work independently.
Ability to work successfully with internal customers in a professional manner.
Your Work Environment
Standing, walking, or operating equipment for extended periods
Working in a lab or manufacturing setting with appropriate PPE provided
Use of computers and digital tools in an office or hybrid environment
Occasional lifting or movement of materials
Adherence to rigorous safety protocols and ergonomic standards
