What will I be doing? As Catering Manager, you will be responsible for the development of market segment(s) including solicitation of new customer relationships, negotiation of business through proposals and contracts to close business, creative menu design to maximize revenue and event experience, maintain existing relationships with corporate and social accounts, foster customer relationships throughout pre‑event, event, and post‑event phases, direct event logistics to affected departments, and serve as the primary contact to ensure a superior experience.
Essential Functions
Organize, plan and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals.
Communicate timely with internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.
Create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet client expectations.
Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, and processes.
Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances.
Sell and influence both internal and external clients.
Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating issues to determine the best solution.
Ensure high quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand guest needs, providing direction, guidance, feedback, and coaching.
Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
Perform other duties as necessary based on business needs.
Maintain regular attendance.
What are we looking for? Minimum Years of Experience: one (1) year sales or catering background.
Advantageous Capabilities
Knowledge of the hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc).
Catering sales within the hotel industry.
