About Medra
At Medra, we’re building the foundational layers of a Physical AI Scientist platform. Our systems combine Physical AI that can operate scientific instruments with human-level dexterity and Scientific AI that can analyze results, reason about next steps, and autonomously close the loop. The Team We’re a mission-driven group of engineers from companies like Tesla, Amazon, SpaceX, and Neuralink. We move fast, collaborate closely, and enjoy working together both on hard technical problems and outside the office. We’re direct, opinionated, and thoughtful about design tradeoffs, and we resolve disagreements quickly and empathetically.
The Role We’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to help build the user-facing and internal software that powers Medra’s robotic platform. You’ll design intuitive experiences for customers, build internal tools that support our robotic fleet, and work closely with teammates and users to continuously improve how our systems are used in practice.
What You’ll Do Design and implement user experiences that are intuitive, polished, and enjoyable to use
Build internal tools that make it easy to deploy, operate, and support a growing robotic fleet
Collaborate with customers and teammates to gather feedback and translate it into product improvements
Design and implement backend systems that support web applications and internal workflows
Move quickly from idea to implementation, iterating as requirements evolve
What We’re Looking For
Proficiency in Python and the ability to rapidly implement and iterate on ideas
Experience building interactive front-end applications with React or similar frameworks
Experience with TypeScript
Strong understanding of web fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, and REST APIs
Backend system design and implementation experience
Comfort wearing many hats and working across a broad technical surface area
Ability to move fast in an environment where problems may be loosely defined and priorities can shift
Strong curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and expand your skill set
2+ years of relevant engineering experience at product-driven technology companies
Nice to Have
Experience with databases such as Postgres or Redis
Interest or experience in robotics, machine learning, or computer vision
Prior experience working on systems that interact with hardware
