ELCCO
Role Purpose
The Vice President of Preconstruction is accountable for
how work enters ELCCO . This role exists to ensure early access, relationships, and opportunities are converted into
disciplined, executable, negotiated work —aligned with ELCCO’s operational capacity, margin requirements, and long-term strategy.
The VP of Preconstruction improves
decision quality before commitments are made , so ELCCO consistently wins
the right work, at the right terms, at the right time .
This is
not
a sales role and
not
a production role. It is a
governance and system‑leadership role
at the front end of the business.
What You’ll Be Accountable For Front-End Conversion Governance
Serve as the
final decision authority
on whether opportunities are pursued, paused, or exited.
Ensure early access and conversations are shaped into
clear, executable scope —or exited decisively.
Protect ELCCO from absorbing indecision, ambiguity, or misaligned risk.
Preconstruction System Leadership
Lead the
coordinated front-end system
spanning Business Development, Project Development, and Estimating.
Establish and maintain
clear role boundaries —who owns what, and when.
Ensure estimating resources are applied to
qualified, well-defined opportunities .
Relationship Stewardship
Act as ELCCO’s
senior front-end relationship owner
during moments of tension, change, or escalation.
Partner closely with Operations to protect
preferred status and long-term relationship value .
Capacity & Risk Protection
Ensure front-end commitments align with
labor availability and execution capacity .
Protect Operations from overcommitment and downstream disruption.
Maintain discipline when momentum, relationships, or urgency pressure decisions.
Scale & Continuity
Design a front-end system that
scales without heroics or bottlenecks .
Reduce dependence on any single individual—including the Visionary.
Build durability so the system functions effectively during leadership absence.
What This Role Is Not
Not a quota‑carrying sales role
Not a project management role
Not a day‑to‑day estimating role
Not a hero, fixer, or escalation sponge
This role exists to
make fewer, better decisions earlier —not to push more work through the system.
Experience Profile We’re looking for a senior leader with experience in
complex, project-based environments , such as:
Project Executive
Senior Project Manager
Preconstruction or Front-End Leader
You bring a proven ability to:
Convert early conversations into
clear, executable scope
Say
“no”
to misaligned work—professionally and decisively
Balance client relationships with
company constraints and long-term health
You’ve worked directly with owners, developers, general contractors, estimators, and operations leaders, and understand how front‑end decisions ripple downstream.
Technical & Business Acumen Strong working understanding of:
Estimating workflows
Constructability and sequencing
Labor, execution, and delivery risk
Margin, capacity, and tradeoff decisions
Electrical or MEP trade experience is
beneficial but not required
Leadership Attributes That Matter Here
Thinks in
systems , not transactions
Exercises judgment under pressure without relying on authority or heroics
Earns trust through
clarity, consistency, and fairness
Comfortable making—and standing behind—difficult decisions
Learns markets quickly and
institutionalizes insight
so others can execute
Why This Role Matters ELCCO’s growth and complexity demand stronger front‑end discipline. This role ensures the company continues to grow
intentionally , protects Operations, and builds a durable system that supports long‑term success.
Ready to Step In? If you are a senior construction leader who:
Enjoys shaping decisions before commitments are made,
Values discipline over volume,
And wants to build a front‑end system that protects people, margin, and relationships—
Compensation & Benefits ELCCO offers a highly competitive executive compensation and benefits package that reflects the level of accountability and impact of this role.
This position is bonus eligible and includes comprehensive benefits designed to support long‑term success, performance, and well‑being. Relocation assistance available.
We’d like to talk. Apply with a resume and brief note explaining why this role aligns with how you lead.
