MRI Technologist-Per Diem: Atlantic Imaging @ Parsippany

Job Description
Responsible for creating cross-sectional images of patient’s body for diagnostic purposes, using magnetic resonance imaging equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
Position patient on examining table and place specified coil (receiver) such as head coil or knee coil, close to area of interest, following protocols requested by Radiologist.
Demonstrate use of microphone that allows patient and technologist to communicate during examination.
Enter data, such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry into aperture of magnetic resonance imaging equipment (head or feet first), into computer.
Keys commands to specify scan sequences and adjust transmitters and receivers into computer.
Observe patient through window of control room and on closed circuit TV screen to monitor patient safety and comfort.
View images of areas being scanned on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures.
Key in data on keyboard of camera to photograph images.
Alert staff entering magnet room to the danger of wearing or carrying metal around magnet.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Radiology and/or a graduate of an accredited radiology program required.
State RT License for ARRT candidates through the NJDEP, or MR Certified through ARMRIT.
BLS through AHA.

Our medical team features board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists, who specialize in breast imaging, cross-sectional imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, muscular-skeletal imaging, pediatric imaging, and interventional radiology. Highly skilled technologists and registered radiology nurses provide additional expertise and support. Atlantic Health System has radiology services at Chilton, Hackettstown, Morristown, Newton and Overlook medical centers, along with Goryeb Children’s Hospital and a variety of outpatient locations. Services vary by location.
