Currently there is an exciting opportunity in Houston, TX for a Mobile Servicing Systems (MSS) Robotics Systems Engineer
to support the Mobile Servicing System (MSS) Subsystem Manager as part of our long‑standing partnership with NASA. This role involves providing comprehensive engineering support for the integration of space station hardware with the International Space Station (ISS), focusing on robotic systems.
Responsibilities The
MSS Robotics Systems Engineer
will:
Support the robotics systems engineering team in integrating space station hardware with the ISS
Contribute to end-to-end engineering activities including requirements definition, design, integration, testing, verification, and on-orbit operations for ISS utilization customers and system providers requiring robotics support
Establish and define robotics systems requirements for MSS end users
Provide technical consultation to end users to ensure proper application of MSS requirements in their system designs
Conduct analytical assessments of end-user designs to identify potential needs for non-standard services, such as robotics testing at Johnson Space Center facilities
Guide end users through verification processes, ensuring they provide adequate evidence for successful verification closure
Review and approve verification data submissions for compliance with MSS requirements. Support programmatic forums, including ISS boards, panels, project reviews, and regular team meetings
Support the identification and resolution of technical and safety issues related to robotics in ground processing, flight environments, visiting vehicle operations, and on-orbit transfers
Assist the MSS Subsystem Manager in reviewing program documentation and assessing potential impacts on robotic systems
Provide engineering support for resolving robotic‑related issues during the design, testing, and operational phases of payloads and visiting vehicles
Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the Flight Systems Branch and broader engineering initiatives

Required Education/Experience/Skills:
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering from an accredited engineering school
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
Experience or course work in hardware/software integration and testing, systems engineering, systems verification, and robotics analysis
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment with clear, concise, and accurate verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer interface skills required
Analytical and problem‑solving skills are a must
Experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, Outlook
Capable of reading/understanding technical manuals, drawings, and schematics
Ability to plan, manage and prioritize multiple projects
Essential Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation
