As a Senior Consultant, you will provide support to clients from across the maritime value chain in their efforts to tackle business and commercial challenges.

The role will be focused on leading advisory projects and conducting detailed research and analysis to support the development of business solutions for clients. This role will work collaboratively with a range of technical and commercial specialists on a broad range of projects to assist and coordinate services to produce deliverables for clients.

LR Advisory combines deep domain expertise with an understanding of the industry and its stakeholders to assist customers in addressing key industry transformations and ensure that safe and sustainable solutions are leveraged.

The Role As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with the maritime and sales teams to promote LR’s Advisory capabilities and develop large-scale consultancy projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify potential routes to arriving at answers to specific research and analysis challenges, and to suggest alternative solutions where appropriate.

To lead multi-disciplinary teams of consultants and/or analysts to deliver energy transition advisory projects.

To conduct detailed research and analysis activities associated with strategy development, operational optimisation, energy transition and due diligence project engagements.

To mentor and coach junior team members and analysts through their professional development.

To contribute to project planning and coordination activities.

To support business development with opportunity identification, proposal development and thought leadership.

To communicate project deliverables effectively to internal and external stakeholders in a structured manner.

To establish trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

To make suggestions to improve service delivery effectiveness through changes to processes or work scope such that it leads to a reduction in appraisal effort (where applicable).

To manage and develop the team to maintain an effective and competitive service. This includes recruitment, performance management, talent/succession planning, training and development to build and sustain a high performance culture

What you bring

Minimum bachelor’s degree from a recognised university in maritime business, economics, engineering or equivalent course.

Significant experience in management consulting or business development/strategy.

Experience of working in the maritime sector or associated industries would be preferred.

Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience of developing technical and commercial consultancy proposals.

Able to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.

Be flexible, adaptable, and prepared to take on new challenges and work from other LR or client office locations.

Be highly self‑motivated, possessing strong enthusiasm and commitment to delivering value to clients.

Proficiency in the English language with excellent writing skills.

Experience of managing a team, preferably across different geographies and cultures.

Experience of working across global teams and cultures
