To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position, please review this .Reporting to a member of the Undergraduate Admission senior leadership team (an associate director), the admission counselor is responsible for recruiting, evaluating, and enrolling talented students in alignment with the University’s enrollment goals and policies. The role requires significant travel during peak recruitment seasons as well as participation in on-campus and virtual events designed to engage students and their families.This position involves 4–6 weeks of domestic travel in the fall and 2–3 weeks in the spring, along with evening and weekend commitments during high-volume periods (September–May).Salary range: $39,956.72 - $47,895

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Student and Family Engagement



Explain educational programs, student outcomes, campus resources, and financial considerations to prospective students, families, and educators in a clear, approachable manner.



Provide personalized guidance and counseling to support students in making informed decisions.Team Participation



Serve as an active member of the Transfer Team (responsible for supporting that process), collaborating with colleagues to achieve enrollment goals.Communication and Follow-Up



Respond promptly and thoughtfully to inquiries from prospective and admitted students via phone, email, and other communication channels.



Build relationships with prospective students by securing contact information at off-campus events and campus visits, and following up in a timely, professional manner.Campus Visit Experience



Rotate as “Admission Officer of the Day,” welcoming walk-in visitors, setting up the Visit Center, and giving engaging presentations to students, families, and guests.



Support and participate in on-campus events, including open houses, yield programs, and admitted student events.Recruitment and Outreach



Represent the University at off-campus events such as high school and community college visits, college fairs, and community-based programs to connect with prospective students and support the enrollment pipeline.Application Review



Evaluate undergraduate applications in alignment with University policies, recruiting goals, and standards.



Provide accurate and timely guidance to students, parents, and school counselors regarding admissions policies, procedures, and academic programs.Data and Systems Management



Effectively utilize Slate (Technolutions), PowerFaids, and other platforms to manage student records, track activities, and support data-informed decision-making.Travel and Compliance



Possess a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel independently as necessary to support recruitment and enrollment activities.Minimum Qualifications:



Bachelor’s degree required.•

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.•

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a polished yet approachable style.



Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and build meaningful relationships.



Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.



Collaborative, humble, and solution-oriented, with a positive, energetic approach.



Proficiency with CRM platforms (Slate experience strongly preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
