Job Overview The Loan Equipment Service is seeking a Technical Instructor to manage the full system process from order handling to delivery and collection.

Interview date: 30 January 2026

Working hours: 37 hours 30 minutes per week

Main Duties

Monitor and update ELMS system orders

Operate a van (up to Luton size) to deliver and collect equipment such as hospital type beds, commodes, mattresses, and larger items including riser/recliner chairs and beds.

Process orders and conduct warehouse duties, including cleaning equipment.

Perform routine maintenance and equipment repairs.

Participate in planned preventive maintenance programmes.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

Work as a member of the Loan Equipment Team to provide an effective cleaning and re‑use service.

Manage stores tasks, including replenishing stock, stock inspection/repairs, and assembly.

Provide collection, delivery, and installation services of loan equipment items at patients’ homes.

Undertake planned preventive maintenance programmes.

Qualifications & Education Essential Criteria

Full UK driving licence

Desirable Criteria

NVQ Level 2

Skills & Abilities Essential Criteria

Capable of working unsupervised on a wide range of equipment supplied by the loan equipment service.

Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

Basic keyboard skills and ability to use hand‑held recording devices and associated software packages.

Physically able to undertake moving and handling of a diverse range of equipment.

Work with or without supervision.

Desirable Criteria

Basic computer skills.

Team working.

Knowledge & Experience Essential Criteria

Relevant experience within a health/social care or maintenance environment.

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.

Ability to work on planned preventive maintenance programmes.

Desirable Criteria

Comprehensive geographical knowledge of Newcastle City.

Experience of stores work.

Decontamination experience.

Experience working with disabled or elderly people/the public.
