General Summary The PTA will provide direct treatment services under the supervision of a physical therapist following the documented patient treatment plan. They will aid in the development/coordination of intervention plans and adapt activities according to the needs of the patient as well as appropriately document treatment services.
Main Responsibilities
Adheres to professional, ethical and legal standards of practice
Participates with physical therapist in developing patient treatment plans
Administers a variety of exercises and interventions following the documented patient treatment plan
Observes and records the effectiveness of intervention, and documents patients progress
Proposes modification of specific intervention procedures to physical therapist
Coordinates treatment schedule with Physical Therapist
Explains treatment techniques to patients
Maintain a safe and clean working environment/and equipment
Build quality relationships with patients, physicians/providers, and co-workers
Education, Experience & Knowledge
Graduate of an APTA accredited school of physical therapy
Valid PTA license
0-2 Years’ experience
Knowledge of physical therapy principles, theory, methods and their application in an patient-centered environment
Must possess good diagnostic and clinical skills
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
Must possess excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
