Overview
The Audiometric Technician performs hearing screenings on newborn infants (neonates) after completion of special training by Audiologist and Audiology Assistant. The Audiometric Technician performs administrative functions for the department. Accountability is measured through direct observation, productivity reports, performance appraisal, customer service reports, participation in task force, committee and quality improvement activities, Care Line/QARM reports, and peer review. Demonstrates population-specific competencies (e.g. age-specific, cultural sensitivity, patient-centered communication) in performance of role.
