We are seeking a skilled and reliable CDL Class A Truck Driver to join the New World Van Lines team.
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting household goods and possessions between destinations. The ideal candidate should have at least one year of driving experience and a spotless safety record, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain a Class A commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all state and federal regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
Maintain the safety of the general public, the driver, and company equipment while operating the company vehicle.
Safely load, secure, and unload household goods and possessions onto the truck and into customers’ homes, ensuring proper handling and care throughout the process.
Plan and execute routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery while adhering to traffic laws and safety guidelines.
Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the truck and its equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
Maintain accurate records of mileage, hours of service, and other required documentation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a courteous and professional manner.
Collaborate with dispatch and other team members to optimize route planning and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to goods or equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and trailer, promoting a professional image both internally and to the public.
Perform any and all duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
Minimum of one year of professional driving experience with a verifiable safety record.
Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing the transportation industry.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical ability to load, secure, and unload household goods as needed.
Flexibility to work varied hours and extended shifts when necessary.
Basic computer skills for electronic logs and communication.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, sometimes weighing up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable with physical exertion, including bending, twisting, and maneuvering in confined spaces.
Ability to sit for extended periods and withstand long hours of driving.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and possess a valid DOT medical card.
