Our client is seeking a hands‑on
Working Shop Foreman/Service Technician
to support a busy construction equipment service operation. You'll lead technicians while staying on the tools, performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel, hydraulic, and small‑engine equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic ready to step into leadership.
Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday, 7AM–5PM
Responsibilities
Train, mentor, and support shop technicians.
Ensure safety procedures are followed consistently.
Maintain personal hand tools required for the role.
Operate construction equipment for testing and repair.
Coordinate daily workflow with mechanics and service management.
Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical bulletins to complete repairs.
Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and small‑engine equipment.
Qualifications/Must Haves
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Prior supervisory or lead tech experience preferred.
Strong proficiency in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documents.
5+ years of hands‑on experience repairing construction or small‑engine equipment.
All education levels considered; technical school training or equivalent hands‑on experience is fully acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
CDL or willingness to obtain one.
Familiarity with service management software.
Experience in a shop foreman or lead technician role.
Experience with generators, compactors, pumps, saws, light towers, and similar equipment.
Training & Development
