Please independently verify any critical information before relying on it.**Description**Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Oncology Nurse Coordinator. This role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering comprehensive assessment, treatment, testing, and education to oncology patients. You will coordinate all aspects of oncology and hematology care plans, ensuring adherence to established protocols and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

**Key Responsibilities:*** Manage and coordinate oncology and hematology treatment plans.* Prepare patients for appointments by screening and ensuring all necessary assessments and test results are complete.* Update and verify medication and treatment plans in collaboration with providers.* Document patient care accurately in medical records.* Assist with examinations and procedures within scope of practice.* Coordinate care with internal and external ancillary services, including specialty pharmacies and supportive services.* Provide counseling and education to patients and families on all aspects of oncology and hematology, including preventative measures.* Maintain authorization for medications and procedures, oversee medication samples, and ensure safe administration of treatments.* Support maintenance of emergency equipment and medical supplies.* Ensure sterility and readiness of instruments for procedures and access implanted ports following sterile protocols.* Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to maintain a safe and effective continuum of care.* Document investigational protocol information and ensure patient understanding of investigational drug materials.* Maintain ongoing oncology education as required by accrediting bodies.

**Education:** Graduation from an accredited RN program is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

**Experience:** At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

**Certifications and Licenses:** Current RN license in a Compact state or the state of Missouri is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is mandatory. Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) is preferred.

**Physical and Mental Requirements:** This role requires considerable mental focus, the ability to lift up to 35 lbs, and frequent walking, standing, and various physical movements such as turning, stooping, and reaching. The position involves exposure to communicable diseases, radiation, anti-neoplastic agents, sharps, and other biohazardous materials.
