The Sanmina facility in Austin, Texas provides precision machining and mechanical assembly services to customers. Precision machining capabilities include vertical milling, horizontal milling, and turning on a wide range of materials including aluminum, copper, composites, stainless titanium, and high alloy steel with a milling envelope of up to 60" x 50" x 40". The facility specializes in high-mix, low volume production and also offers subassembly, integration, New Product Introduction services, and clean room assembly.
Job Purpose Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set‑up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the electro‑mechanical assemblies, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
Responsibilities
Performs a wide variety of electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repair
Set up, arrange, and operate equipment as per the specifications and instructions from the supervisor
Read and understand schematic diagrams, blueprints, product manuals, process documents, and gather information regarding parts, fixtures, tools, etc.
Utilize test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and/or vacuum pumps to test assemblies, subassemblies and components
Perform regular test and inspection procedures to ensure that the product is formed in accordance with the specifications
Identify and correct errors
Cross‑train on different assemblies, inspection methods
Determine and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process
Observe all safety standards; attend required health and safety training and follow safety and security policies, procedures and practices; promptly report accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to supervisor or Safety department
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working in a clean room
Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines under supervision
Read and understand operating procedures
Other Requirements This is a physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods of time, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, the use of hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts.
Because this position may involve working in a clean room, the use of appropriate personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required.
This is an ITAR facility and applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
