ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Respond rapidly to all production breakdowns with a strong sense of urgency.

Layout and perform complex machining operation on replacement parts using lathes, milling machines drills and surface grinders.

Interpret blueprints, sketches or other specs.

Diagnose and remedy machine faults, determine necessary repairs, strip and reassemble.

Install plant processing equipment including copper, stainless steel, plastic and iron pipefitting.

Trouble shoot and repair vacuum, centrifugal, diaphragm, gear and reciprocating pumps

Inspect all plant equipment and machinery for proper lubrication and perform other preventive maintenance.

Weld metal objects together by means of tig, oxyacetylene, brazing or arc welder apparatus.

Perform simple adjustments, repairs or replacements on motors, controls, on electrical equipment.

Follow SCN BestCo’s LOTO Policy and procedures to ensure that machines or equipment are isolated from all potentially hazardous energy before performing cleaning, service or maintenance activities where they may be an unexpected energization, start-up, or release of stored energy.

Learn machine operating and maintenance requirements of all production machines and equipment

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, basic electrical, welding and pipe-fitting skills

Good analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Good writing, reading and math skills

Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with peers, managers, and productions staff

A sound knowledge of strengths and mechanical properties of materials

Ability to use common precision measuring instruments, gauges and hand tools

Supply a quality set of standard and metric size mechanic’s tools

Understanding of proper lubrication techniques

Ability to work accurately; within machine specified tolerances

Deals with uncertainty

Basic computer and email skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience.

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and shifts (Must be able to work 2 nd , 3 rd or 12-hour shifts)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of maintenance experience

Experience working in an industrial setting

PLC experience

Experience in the Pharmaceutical industryKnowledge of OSHA Regulations
