The Tool Room Machinist interprets blueprints, operates and maintains equipment to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision parts which meet specified dimensions and quality standards. Responsible for the setup, testing, and adjustment of machines, ensuring smooth operation and efficiency in the production process. This is a hands‑on position that requires technical expertise, precision, and a proactive approach to maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Position Type:

Hourly, Full Time

Flexible shift options:

Monday – Friday | 1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm

Monday – Friday | 2nd Shift: 2:30pm – 11:00pm

Pay Range:

$22.00 - $26.00/hour, depending on experience

$2.00/hour shift premium for 2nd shift

ES (2551 Wacker Rd, Savanna, IL 61074)

Key Responsibilities

Operate mechanical equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders) to fabricate, assemble, and repair parts.

Read and interpret blueprints and engineering specs to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances.

Set up, maintain, and service equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Report issues with machinery or parts to supervisors for resolution.

Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.

Help train less experienced team members.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Ability to interpret and apply detailed work instructions, technical drawings, blueprints, and processes.

Ability to take initiative, demonstrating the ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion without supervision.

Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with team members and internal customers.

Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive mindset toward quality assurance.

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Proficient with computer systems and technical applications.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma for equivalent.

1+ years of machining and blueprint reading experience within a metal manufacturing environment.

You know and can articulate what "making chips" means.

Demonstrated steady work history with minimal employment gaps.

History of reliable attendance record and punctuality - essential to support production timelines and team operations.
