The Sonographer performs diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. This role is responsible for providing a wide range of highly technical diagnostic exams, including but not limited to abdominal, small parts, GYN, abdominal and peripheral vascular exams, as well as interventional procedures. You will be required to assist in all interventional procedures and provide a written sonographer impression for all exams, documenting accurately and completely using Magview.
Responsibilities
Perform ultrasound imaging and therapy following applicable scope, standards of practice, and organizational policies. Adjust equipment controls to produce high-quality images and prepare them for timely interpretation. Educate patients and families regarding procedures and treatments. Prepare the room and patient for exams, ensuring efficiency and safety. Review patient history and physician's orders for accurate diagnostics. Maintain accurate patient record keeping and ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS system. Perform and evaluate equipment quality control measurements. Adhere to safety policies and perform other duties as assigned. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography or related field required or an Associate's degree and certificate in diagnostic medical sonography. Registered or registry eligible by the ARDMS. BLS certification required. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role is required. Schedule
