TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I , Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Langer Lab, to join a team focused on developing innovative medical devices and drug delivery systems as an analytical chemist. Will join the analytical development team and support the development of a medical device to personalize the dosing of chemotherapies, and support analytical chemistry efforts on multiple projects.
Responsibilities
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and tandem-MS (TOF and SQ)
Analytical development of HPLC and LCMS in‑vitro and in‑vivo assays
HPLC and LCMS sample preparation and assay validation
Assisting with in‑vivo experiments testing the medical device to personalize chemotherapy dosing
Project planning, reagent procurement, record‑keeping, and basic maintenance of analytical equipment
Ensuring users comply with established standards, regulations, and laboratory procedures
Maintaining accurate records of all experiments and analytical methods
Coordinating with clinical sites for sample acquisition and processing
Training new users in equipment operation and coordinating the work of lower‑level staff, student employees, and/or temporary staff
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
B.S. in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biochemistry, chemistry, biology, biological/biomedical/chemical engineering, or related field)
REQUIRED:
at least two years’ research experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate)
REQUIRED:
ability to multitask and organize multiple experiments and assignments simultaneously and work both independently and as part of a team
REQUIRED:
strong time management, communication, and problem‑solving skills
REQUIRED:
awareness of basic safety issues and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
PREFERRED:
M.S. in a related field
PREFERRED:
chromatography and mass spectrometry experience
PREFERRED:
experience working with and maintaining technical instruments/equipment
