Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for an
Instrument Fitter
to join our team in Kingsport, TN. Instrument Fitters will be responsible for planning layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, including primary piping and tubing. This non‑exempt role reports to the foreman and follows specific procedures. Essential Qualifications
High school or equivalent One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level) Basic knowledge of pipe threading NCCER certification may be required on some job sites Post‑offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy Comply with company and client job site safety requirements Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace Functional Requirements
Selects type and size of pipe and related material according to job specification; installs new, modifies or repairs existing installations; measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs primary piping and tubing; installs tubing, multitude bundles, junction boxes, instruments, both electronic and pneumatic, air piping and tubing; connects all piping and tubing to equipment; leak tests all piping and tubing installed; observes all installed instrument and systems to determine hazards, need for adjustment , relocation or replacement; may repair faulty equipment or systems; minimizes waste of material and avoids unsightly, hazardous or unreliable installations. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Benefits

May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment.
