Mid-Level Building Inspector Summary Dawson is currently seeking a qualified Mid-Level Building Inspector to assist the 99th Readiness Division (RD). The Mid-Level Building Inspector shall assist the 99th RD DPW with engineering evaluations and technical project support required to assist the 99th RD to perform Sustainment, Restoration, and Moderation projects within the 99th RD area of operations. The Contractor shall assist in the following SRM areas: Installation Status Reporting, maintenance and repair project design, data entry into Army databases of record, Facility Equipment and Maintenance System (FEMS), BUILDER, PAVER, ROOFER, documenting facility condition and utilization, and providing technical evaluations of current facilities, and assist with the execution and implementation of a multi-faceted, comprehensive environmental base operations and sustainment program to ensure the buildings and grounds are properly monitored and maintained to meet the functional, appearance, safety, security and environmental standards.
Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the facility and property management of five 99th DPW sites in the Virginia area.
Weekly facility inspections, checklists and reporting
Monitor physical and functional condition of building systems
Identify and report deficiencies
Initiation of work order requests and criteria/objectives for maintenance and repair, input into CSS and/or other Army databases of record
Coordinate and participate in occupational health and safety inspections
Participate in arms room inspections
Prepare, review and submit energy efficiency and sustainable practices/recommendations
Promote energy conservation and awareness
Develop and implement quality assurance program
Provide quality assurance inspection and oversight for maintenance and repair and document as required
Monitor facility systems
Assist 99th RD DPW with corrective actions, repairs and maintenance
Ensure proper storage, usage and disposal and associated documentation of hazardous materials and hazardous waste
Monitor and inspect life safety, physical security and fire prevention requirements; address deficiencies if required
Respond to all information requests
Attend Project Review Boards as requested
Coordinate and liaison with facility coordinator, tenants, Center Commander
Documentation, checklists and reports
Non-Essential Duties Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Mid-Level Building Inspector contractor must possess a minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited university in engineering, or a two-year technical trade degree in engineering, or equivalent professional training and related work experience.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
Current favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR 380-67.
Valid Driver’s License, with ability to operate government provided vehicle.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
As a condition of employment, applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, and have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work and must be able to obtain access to military installations.

Occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Frequently required to walk; continually required to sit.
Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
Continually required to talk or hear; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision.
Normally works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
