Lippes Mathias is seeking a determined, hard-working candidate with superior organizational skills to support the several attorneys in the Syracuse office.
Responsibilities and Duties
Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and arrange meeting logistics for multiple attorneys
Create, maintain, and organize electronic files
Prepare transmittal cover letters and client emails
Save, print, and file document submissions
Proofread and edit lengthy documents
Review attorneys’ monthly invoices for accuracy
Interact comfortably and maintain strong relationships with clients
Prepare firm memoranda to open new matters
Court Filings, including Federal, State and Local
Assisting with drafting, formatting and proofreading of legal documents, such as briefs and pleadings
Provide other clerical support as needed
Our ideal Legal Assistant will have:
Minimum 2 years experience as a legal assistant
Naturally upbeat, cheerful, team-focused attitude
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and top notch organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and to complete projects with little direction
Desire to foster positive, collegial relationships with peers and co-workers
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
Experience with a case management software such as ProLaw or iManage
Experience with eSignature software such as Docusign
Experience in anticipating team’s support needs and executing without being asked
General office and computer experience
Ability to maintain composure under pressure
Reliable attendance record
Experience with editing, revising, and drafting of legal documents
Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information
Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work product
Salary range depending on experience: $40,000-$47,000 annually
