At ELM Management , the ASC Front Office serves as the first point of contact for all parties at the surgery center. Provides a high level of customer service and assistance to patients, staff and vendors. Greets patients and provides assistance with addressing questions and/or concerns in a timely and professional manner. Exhibits excellent communication skills.
Essential Functions Responsible for the opening and closing duties of the ASC. Maintains familiarity with referring physicians and their staff and uses the information to provide superior patient service
Maintains visitor logs per ASC policy and manages all surgical documents as well as enters patient information in the database
Provides clerical assistance to surgery center management staff as requested
Prints schedules and activity reports as directed by the Center Administrative Coordinator
Responds to patient calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
Verifies all patient registration forms are accurate
Assembles patient charts pre-operatively and post-operatively
On the day of the procedure, gathers required information, including but not limited to, insurance cards, copy of referrals, releases and other necessary documentation
Files and scans incoming reports. i.e., pathology, laboratory, radiology, history & physicals
Ensures all appropriate signatures have been obtained
Collects and post payments
Communicates information or delays to the pre-op team
Assists with discharging patients, i.e., wheel patients to vehicles as needed
Follows protocol in a calm manner in the event of an emergency
Participates in staff meetings and schedules in-services
Qualifications & Requirements Ability to perform all essential job duties satisfactorily
Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Associate’s Degree in Medical Office Administration (preferred)
3–5 years of experience in a surgery center or medical front office role (preferred
Commercial insurance plans
Medical terminology
Experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (required)
