Job Responsibilities
Care for deceased respectfully during the entire cremation process.
Receive and verify documentation and visual identification of remains.
Complete all required cremation and equipment maintenance paperwork.
Adhere to all federal, state, municipal, and licensing regulations governing cremation.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and chain‑of‑custody requirements.
Maintain logs, reports, and state‑specific compliance documents.
Keep the crematorium, equipment, and adjacent facilities clean and operational.
Safely deliver or release cremated remains to authorized funeral homes or authorities.
Execute any other duties directed by management.
Minimum Requirements Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a formal program in funeral service or mortuary science is required by state law.
Experience
Minimum one to three months as an apprentice.
Certification/Licenses
Certified Crematory Operator as required by state law.
Valid driver’s license required for removals, transfers, and delivery of cremated remains.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic operation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment.
Basic computer proficiency.
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
High compassion, integrity, and attention to detail.
Effective problem‑solving and prioritization.
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Compensation
Rate: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour.
