Duties are performed both landside and airside.**Major Duties and Responsibilities:*** Operates some heavy equipment and trucks.* Inspects assigned tools and equipment for readiness and safety.* Completes related records and reports.* Performs related manual labor.* Perform job duties while complying with TSA security requirements.* Perform Job duties require operation of vehicles or heavy equipment in/on and around active runway and taxiway environments while following instructions provided by FAA traffic controllers and following airfield signage, lighting, and paint marking instructions.**General Information:*** This position requires a flexible work schedule with **availability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift**. Ability to work other shifts and overtime when required by assignment, inclement weather, or urgent/emergency situations.

Subject to emergency calls back to work.* Valid CDL-B with no more than 6 points.

Tanker vehicle endorsement and CDL-A, or the ability to obtain within one year of employment. Ability to obtain and maintain a City driving permit.* Successful candidate must successfully pass and obtain Movement Area Training (MAT) Endorsement within the first 6 months of employment in order to maintain employment.* Certain criminal convictions will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and, therefore, exclude them from employment.**This Position Offers:*** Competitive salary and benefits* **$2,000 sign-on bonus*** 2.5% premium pay for Airfield Maintenance technicians who possess a CDL* 2.5% shift differential for technicians on second and third shift* Employee referral bonus opportunity* Career growth opportunities, including pre-paid tuition for an Associate’s Degree through CPCC**Minimum Qualifications:*** No minimum level plus seven years of experience* High School Graduate or Equivalent plus five years of experience* **CDL-B Required** Ability to obtain Tank Endorsement within 12 months**Required Licenses or Certifications:*** Valid driver’s license and ability to qualify for City driving permit.* Ability to acquire MAT endorsement within 6 months.* Valid CDL-B with no more than 6 points.

Tanker vehicle endorsement or the ability to obtain within one year from the date of employment.**Preferred Qualification:**High School graduation/GED and at least three years of experience operating one or more pieces of equipment mentioned previously, or if no high school diploma/GED, five years of experience required. Must be familiar with or have the ability to become familiar with FAA part 139 standard requirements for the airfield environment, TSA airport security requirements, and FAA part 77 standard requirements.**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:****Knowledge of:*** Safety precautions and work hazards are involved in the operation of equipment.* Traffic laws and regulations are involved in the operation of equipment.**Skill in:*** Reading and writing sufficiently to complete paperwork and read schematic designs and blueprints.**Ability to:*** Communicate in a professional and positive manner with co-workers, airport tenants, and the public.* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, tenants, and the public.* Follow verbal and written instructions.* Work other shifts and overtime when required.**ADA and Other Requirements:****Physical Requirements:**Spends 80% performing related manual labor and operating equipment,t the remainder of the time.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Work involves sitting, standing, bending, walking, driving, climbing, lifting, shoveling, pushing/pulling, carrying, twisting, reaching, and kneeling/squatting.

Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to operate manual and automatic vehicles.
