Primary Objective:
This role is responsible for visual monitoring of all plant operational area equipment for unfamiliar noises, leaks and possible equipment failures as well as housekeeping duties. This role is operating as an interim succession role for vacancies therefore is skilled in multiple functions throughout the plant.
Major Function and Scope:
Assist production team members with work needed and functions as a skilled, crossed trained team member when a role vacancy or need arises
Cross trained in multiple roles to accurately and efficiently perform those job duties
Assist in the coordination of plant operations to ensure that material is being processed correctly
Coordinate and assist with product changeovers, belt changes, and blade changes on operation lines
Identify material leaving the machinery and label it accordingly
Perform quality checks and work orders and notify the Team Leader of any discrepancies
Package the finished pallets of material for shipment or delivery to another work center
Read, understand, and follow packaging instructions for material being packaged
Assist Operators and other personnel in repairing or maintaining the machinery
Communicate any issues or ideas that you have to the Team Leader
Monitors all plant machinery and equipment by making periodic rounds
Identifies process variations, determines the source, and works to eliminate it
Communicates with the crew members to maintain stable and consistent production
Performs basic maintenance related tasks and inspections
Observes safe work practices in compliance with the safety policy
Attend any job‑related training deemed necessary by supervision
Follow all established standard operating procedures
Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
Perform other tasks assigned by management

Some mechanical skills
Competencies:
Must be a self‑motivated individual contributor who needs limited direction
Must be flexible to schedule changes (including overnight and weekend shifts)
Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time on concrete.
Must be able to work in varying temperatures up to 110 degrees and dusty environment.
Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information:
Must be a self‑motivated individual contributor who needs limited direction on day to day task
Must be flexible to schedule changes (including overnight and weekend shifts)
Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time on concrete.
Must be able to work in varying temperatures up to 110 degrees and dusty environment.
Must be able to lift up, push, and pull to 50 lbs frequently and up to 80 lbs occasionally.
Must be able to climb vertical ladders, multiple flights of stairs and work off elevated surfaces.
Must not have any limitations in regard to working in confined spaces or wearing a respirator for extended periods of time.
Must be able to wear hearing protection, eye protection, and steel toe shoes.
Must be able to make repetitive motions involving twisting and turning and using the force of 50 lbs.
Must be able to kneel and bend over frequently.
Must be able to use hand tools frequently.
Must be able to climb on and work around machinery resulting in awkward or uncomfortable positions.
Must be able to sit and drive forklift on uneven driving surface.
Must have vision of 20/50 (corrected or not).
