The Life Enrichment Coordinator plans, organizes, and leads engaging activities and programs that address the whole person. This approach to health and wellness which includes eight dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Environmental, Health Services, Intellectual, Physical, Social, Spiritual and Vocational.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning and developing a diverse schedule of life enrichment activities.
Adapt programs to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of participants
Facilitate group and one-on-one activities that encourage socialization and engagement
Coordinate special events, celebrations, outings, and community partnerships
Maintain a collaborative relationship with other team members, care staff and volunteers
Maintain accurate attendance records, and progress notes
Maintain accurate inventory of supplies to ensure resources and utilized as needed and on‑hand supplies are always in stock
The ability to coordinate and communicate with resident families
Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and organizational policies
Encourage resident/participants involvement in planning and decision‑making
Train and guide volunteers and staff as applicable
Assist in gathering each resident’s interests through the Social Spiritual History Assessment for planning person‑centered approach activities.
Assist with preparing and distributing monthly calendars according to the Community standards.
Assist with gathering information, articles, and photos for newsletter
Assist with preparation and distribution of weekly program contents.
May be responsible for transporting residents to special recreational outings.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Social Work, or related field preferred)
Previous experience in activity planning, recreation, or enrichment programming (healthcare or senior living experience preferred)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work with individuals of varying physical and cognitive abilities
Creative, energetic, and compassionate approach to programming
Basic computer skills for scheduling, documentation, and communication
Physical Requirements
Ability to lead activities involving standing, walking, and light lifting
Must be able to assist participants with mobility or adaptive equipment as needed
Indoor and outdoor settings, including community spaces
