Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment such as compactor, front‑end loader, tractor, backhoe, etc. for road and bridge maintenance.
Perform traffic control (flagging, barricades, cones), set up barricades, and direct traffic at construction sites.
Cut, haul brush, trees, and debris; remove trash and debris from county right of way.
Attach road signs, dig holes, set signs with cement, and complete related minor repairs.
Conduct routine preventative maintenance, wash and inspect equipment.
Fuel equipment and maintain operational safety.
Assist in training new employees as needed.
Operate diesel and non‑diesel trucks (Class B CDL) for hauling gravel, dirt, asphalt; operate heavy dump and tandem trucks.
Perform flood control duties when required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
Valid Class C Driver's License issued by Texas.
Preferred: Class B Commercial Driver's License with “N” endorsement.
Experience operating heavy equipment (compactors, loaders, tractors, etc.) and performing road maintenance tasks.
Reliable attendance and ability to work on call during adverse weather.
Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening.
