Full-time Field Service Tech
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Full-time Field Service Tech to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience with Jenbacher and Waukesha engines, as well as a strong background in automotive technology. This role requires a dedicated professional with 5-10 years of relevant work experience who can provide exceptional on-site technical support and maintenance services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Perform on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Jenbacher and Waukesha engines and related systems
Conduct regular preventive maintenance inspections and services to ensure optimal equipment performance
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques
Interpret and analyze engine performance data to identify potential problems and recommend solutions
Collaborate with clients, team members, and manufacturers to resolve technical challenges and improve system efficiency
Provide detailed documentation of all service activities, including reports, maintenance logs, and parts usage
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
Maintain and update technical knowledge through ongoing training and certification programs
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with the logistics team for timely delivery of required components
Offer technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices
Participate in emergency call-outs and provide 24/7 support when required
Qualifications and Requirements
5-10 years of hands‑on experience as a field service technician, with a focus on Jenbacher and Waukesha engines
Proven expertise in automotive technology and systems
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems related to engine operation
Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools specific to Jenbacher and Waukesha engines
Familiarity with control systems, generators, and power plant operations
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to travel extensively (up to 75% of the time) and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when necessary
Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in challenging environments
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or associate's degree in a related field preferred
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Jenbacher Certified Technician, Waukesha Engine Certified Technician) are highly desirable
