Opportunity
HDR is seeking a Structural EIT to join our diverse and talented team in the Denver area. Job In this position, you will provide structural engineering solutions to complex and challenging problems that touch every aspect of our communities and lives. You’ll work under the direction of licensed professional and structural engineers locally and nationally on projects that provide safe building environments, deliver clean drinking water to our communities, provide critical buildings and facilities to industry, telecommunications, and all levels of government, improve the infrastructure of our national parks for generations to come, and more.
Responsibilities
Perform structural design and analysis of building and civil structures for various project types, construction materials, and methods.
Prepare specifications and contribute to the production of drawings for construction documents.
Be proficient using Revit and ACC to model and assemble contract documents of the building elements you design.
Periodically serve projects during construction by visiting construction sites to inspect work, review contractor submittals to ensure they meet design intent, and address construction changes.
Participate in conditional assessments of existing structures on occasion.
Contribute to writing technical memos and reports on occasion.
Participate in multi-discipline team meetings, design charrettes, client review workshops, and construction meetings.
Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative person and a good communicator, possess technical curiosity and a strong work ethic, take responsibility for their work, and be eager to learn from the expertise of others. The following qualifications are preferred for this position:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (ABET accredited) with emphasis in Structural Engineering.
Recent graduates should have a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 and a minimum engineering GPA of 3.25.
A team-oriented mindset that seeks to collaborate with and learn from the expertise of those around you.
Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
Coursework or experience that includes concrete, steel, wood/timber, and masonry design using IBC and ASCE codes and referenced standards.
Experience with structural analysis, finite element, and Revit and AutoCAD softwares.
Strong writing skills and ability to speak fluently in meetings and groups.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, resulting in technically sound solutions in an organized and timely manner.

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
