Investment Accountant I The Reporting & Investment Accountant I helps to ensure that investment accounting policies and procedures are correctly applied to financial transactions. Working under close supervision as an entry-level position, this job works with asset management, portfolio management, valuations, and third‑party property management teams, and assists with preparing month‑end entries, closing reports and financial analytics.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for accounting analysis of various real estate holdings.

Identifies, analyses and resolves variances generated by the reconciliation process.

Preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including valuation adjustments for appraisals.

Review of monthly reporting packages received from the property management company, including communication with property management company accountants, performing analytics, raising issues found to management, etc.

Supplying property information to valuations team each month for quarterly appraisals.

Monthly/quarterly accounting responsibilities including, but not limited to, communication with property management company accountants, preparation of journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations, property workpapers, investor distributions, management fee calculations, etc.

Close interaction with internal and external business partners, including auditors and tax preparers. Liaises with external auditors for the timely completion of audit procedures and the issuance of audited financial statements.

Preferred Education & Qualifications

Solid knowledge and understanding of GAAP

1-2 years of previous experience in an accounting role

Previous Real estate experience

BS/BA in accounting or finance

Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Previous Experience with Adobe and/or Yardi

Excellent technical research, communication and writing skills

Ability to work in a deadline driven environment

Ability to multi‑task

Anticipated Posting End Date 2026-01-14

Compensation Base Pay Range: $28.03/hr - $37.07/hr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non‑annual sales incentive plans, or other non‑annual incentive plans).
