Shipping Production Leader

**Job Description:****Responsibilities:*** Leads a team of shipping and receiving personnel, providing guidance, training, and input towards performance evaluations.* Coordinates and oversees the daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring that shipments are accurately processed, packaged, and prepared for transportation.* Collaborates with internal departments, including procurement, warehouse, and customer service, to ensure seamless coordination of orders and shipments.* Monitors inventory levels to prevent overstocking or shortages and maintains accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.* Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and documented to prevent damage and errors during transit.* Addresses and resolves any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, such as delays, damaged goods, or order discrepancies.* Utilizes shipping software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate reports on shipping activities.* Optimizes shipping processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.* Maintains a safe and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.* Provides training to new team members and conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.* Collaborates with carriers, suppliers, and other external partners to coordinate transportation and logistics activities.* Supports the implementation of new shipping technologies and tools to enhance operational capabilities.* Analyzes shipping data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.* Assists in the development and implementation of shipping-related policies, procedures, and best practices.**Education and Experience Requirements:**High school diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in shipping and logistics.**Certification(s):****Forklift, Crane****Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*** Strong knowledge of shipping processes, transportation modes, and inventory management.* Proficiency in using shipping software and systems for tracking and reporting.* Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.* Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle shipping-related challenges effectively.* Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.* Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.**Work Environment*** Ability to lift up to 50lbs.* Sit or stand for up to 95 percent of work hours.* Requires working in a manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.**Location:**Longview, TX**Title:**Shipping Production Leader #J-18808-Ljbffr
