Job Description Job Summary/Purpose Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.
Minimum Training and Education Associate degree in nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required.
Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs (infrequent), working indoors and outside in temperature extremes (infrequent), from elevated and confined spaces, kneeling and bending at waist, twisting at waist, squatting, pinching, gross and fine motor activities, reach overhead, repetitive motions, using legs and balance, lifting and carrying 50 lbs unassisted, lifting/lowering 50 lbs from floor to 36 inches, lifting from 36" to overhead 25 lbs, exerting up to 50 lbs of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, recognizing objects, matching colors, determining distance/relationship, good peripheral vision, maintaining hearing acuity, dealing with stressful situations, working rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment, tactile and (selected positions) olfactory and respirator use.
