The Division of Child Protection within the Department of Pediatrics at Saint Louis University School of Medicine is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Abuse Pediatrician to join our multidisciplinary team. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable children while working in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment.
About Us
Based at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, a 190‑bed, free‑standing children’s hospital and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. Our team includes:
1 full‑time Child Abuse Pediatrician 1 full‑time Nurse Practitioner 2 full‑time Social Workers 6 full‑time Nurses
The Department of Pediatrics features 130 faculty members across all major subspecialties, fostering collaboration and growth. Key Responsibilities
Provide expert inpatient and outpatient consultations. Share call responsibilities within the division. Supervise advanced practice providers. Educate future healthcare professionals and community partners. Mentor providers in Missouri SAFECARE network. Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with law enforcement, child services, and other agencies. Participate in policy development to protect children. Support programs such as our comprehensive foster care clinic and statewide initiatives (fatality review teams, advisory committees). Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics. Eligible for an unrestricted Missouri medical license. Strong commitment to child advocacy and trauma‑informed care.
