Hold a valid New Jersey RN Licensure
Preferred: Valid NJ School Nurse Certification from the NJ Department of Education
Expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures
Record of successful school nurse experience preferred
Knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, wellness education, community health and social service resources, and current health issues
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities
Perform school nurse functions of administering health care service to students
Administer required health screening for students
Administer medications following procedural guidelines
Compile and maintain cumulative health record for each student in the building to assure accurate and complete health records are available
Provide emergency or immediate first aid, initiate incident/accident report, and follow-up on all personnel injured on school property
