division owns, develops, and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions. Naval handling is a growth segment for Kongsberg Maritime, applying commercial solutions to Naval applications.
We are recruiting for
Lead Controls Engineer Naval, Handling Systems – Control & Digital , reporting to Vice President Control & Digital, Handling. In this role you will be working to develop our future Naval handling products together with a dedicated, senior cross functional team.
Key accountabilities
Contribute to the development of new products, systems, and concepts
Ensure alignment with technology principles
Contribute to shaping the product area in close collaboration with senior engineers and business developers
Understand how your work contributes to Handling strategy and deliver to required cost & quality
Deliver concept work and engineering to order to meet customer requirements
Design and documentation for Naval customers
Contribute to our team; socially and professionally
Qualifications and experience
Electro or Automation education to Bachelor level
Minimum 5 year’s relevant experience in automation, electrical engineering and system design
Knowledge of Deck Machinery products is an advantage
Experience with Naval systems is an advantage
Experience working with electrical drive solutions
Knowledge of hydraulic systems is an advantage
Experience of electrical design tools and PLM systems (2D Autocad, CadettElsa, Teamcenter 13 for example)
Familiar within ATEX / IECEx UL or FM / NEC500 & 505 standards is an advantage
EX experience is an advantage
Working knowledge of the major Class Society rules and regulations
Experience with IEC61131 standard for programming is an advantage
Experience with Military standards, (MIL-STD-461, DEF-STAN 59-411, AECTP 500) is an advantage
