Job Description Engineering Support team, the Field Mechanical Technician will ensure that customers receive the necessary assistance. This role involves addressing client needs at their facilities through both on-site and remote support, as well as validating internal projects. A commitment to travel at least 70% of the time is required.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for equipment at customer sites, both on-site and remotely.
Serve as the technical liaison while at client facilities.
Conduct calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment at the company’s facility.
Understand client requirements and assist with upgrades, retrofitting, or refurbishing existing systems.
Diagnose process-related issues and develop solutions to enhance performance.
Create technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
Communicate valuable insights from clients to the internal engineering team.
Collaborate with the Customer Service department to promote spare parts sales during site visits.
Participate in activities at the company facility when client support is not required.
Engage in various projects and initiatives beyond primary responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience in similar roles; a degree in a related field is a plus.
Proven experience in validating industrial machinery to meet client specifications.
Strong web handling skills.
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
Effective communicator with a customer-oriented approach and a collaborative mindset.
Willingness to expand skills into robotics controls if needed.
Proficient in creating technical reports.
Strong problem‑solving abilities with a focus on identifying root causes.
Passport required: travelling should be mostly within the U.S., with some to Mexico and/or Canada. Potentially travel to Italy for training purpose once per year.
