Manufacturing Engineering Resource Programmer III - DSC
Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, the Manufacturing Engineering Resource Programmer III is responsible for the effective design of manufacturing resources, including the following:
Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs
Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures
Loft patterns
Operational models with associated 2D drawings
Must have knowledge of shop production and processing operations. Work in accordance with management strategies, concepts, and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems. May train one or more employees.
Responsibilities
Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various engineering drawings, models, bills of materials, technical specifications, quality documents, the Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required.
Provide process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist as required.
Develop, create, and maintain tooling/fixture definitions for manufacturing operations for all media types, including MCAD and manual legacy designs. Execute the creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for numerical controlled equipment.
Develop, create, and maintain loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and associated digital tooling programs.
Maintain working knowledge of NC programming, loft, engineering, tool design, manufacturing, and planning processes and procedures.
Apply knowledge related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances and support producibility assessments when requested.
Maintain records and schedules of work assigned. Meet established company cost control standards, schedule, and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
Exercise strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate and interact between internal and external customers.
Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, and check/validate Production Engineering work.
Required to attend training and complete competency-based testing as required by management to remain current with technological advancements.
Qualifications
Two (2) years of college or three (3) years of experience in the aircraft industry, or completion of the related Bell apprentice program.
Demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
