Amazon.com seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to drive insights and reporting related to Amazon.com traffic. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide financial partnership towards the development of new mechanisms to better understand the impact of traffic on performance.
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will closely work with business and finance leaders to develop financial models for both short- and long-term business and financial goals, evaluate new business opportunities, and drive business initiatives for projects with strategic significance and high exposure. You will also provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of financial performance and ad-hoc business analysis support. This role requires a self-starter who is independent, has strong financial modeling abilities, problem‑solving skills, keen attention to detail, and can work in a fast‑paced environment with ambiguity.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience influencing business owners and supporting decision‑making in rapidly evolving environments. This is a high‑visibility role with regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon, requiring strong interpersonal communication skills and a strong business sense to independently drive business partnership.
Key Job Responsibilities
Proactively track changes in traffic patterns and provide updates to leadership.
Assist in the development of tools to better understand changes in traffic patterns.
Partner across teams to anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze results; identify and drive growth and improvement opportunities.
Manage financial and operational performance metrics for your business, e.g., Weekly Business Reviews.
Uphold and enforce an environment of ethical practices and strong financial controllership.
Work with business and finance leaders to develop financial models to better understand business trends.
Present weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial performance reports and support ad‑hoc business analysis.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field.
Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes.
Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards), or experience using Oracle.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
