Position Summary
The Lead Diesel Mechanic in Aliso Viejo CA, will be responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light, medium, or heavy‑duty vehicles to ensure a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles as well as managing employees and garage operations. ** CDL A or B required, will allow time to obtain
Pay: $39.61- $41.11 hr
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Essential Duties:
Coordinate with the Fleet manager in completing shift work
Able to supervise 2 or more other employees while working
Must update work orders, close work orders, and work with drivers
Must maintain, order, and update parts inventory
Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as required
Key Competencies
At least 3+ years of experience performing vehicle maintenance, OR capable of diagnosing engine drivability issues and engine repairs such as replacing cylinder heads, injectors, and high-pressure pumps.
ASE Certifications preferred
Commercial Driver’s License class “A” or “B “ preferred
Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if it is operating properly
Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
Knowledge of handheld scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
Ability to read schematics and be familiar with the process
Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Working Conditions
Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.
Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases, or other irritants
Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
Ability to move and position heavy objects.
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and crawl to repair vehicles
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
