Overview The Center for Academic Success & Enrichment seeks a part‑time faculty tutor to support the School of Physical Therapy. Tutors will provide academic assistance for didactic and laboratory coursework in an in‑person and/or virtual format to students currently enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program on the Worcester campus.

Responsibilities Assist DPT students with content acquisition, application, critical thinking, and clinical skill development related to learning outcomes for courses in Anatomy, Pharmacology, Clinical Medicine, Cardiopulmonary, Musculoskeletal and Neuromuscular evaluation and intervention. Offer tutoring session availability in an in‑person and/or online/virtual format and provide tailored guidance on medical knowledge, clinical knowledge, and professionalism. Design strategies for students to apply concepts independently and check for understanding. Collaborate with course instructors to determine primary content areas to focus on and provide subject‑specific feedback. Use the university’s learning management and scheduling system to communicate with students, document sessions, and provide feedback to the program director on student progress or trends. Lead engaging activities during sessions that demonstrate real‑world applications of concepts covered. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Must hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited PT program.

Active license to practice PT in Massachusetts.

Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals).

Compensation Hiring Range: $44.50 per hour. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and comparison to similar roles.
